Two 27.9 cm x 21.5 cm typed written pages to Mr. Edwards from A.G. Birch on Denver Post letterhead. Disusses building his house overlooking Estes which burned due to poor construction in 1907, known today as the Birch Ruins. Details construction using stonemason Car Piltz, story of the evening of the fire, and the aftermath including purchasing land from F.O. Stanley and working with F.G. Bonfils and daughter Helen Bonfils and the Denver Post. Marks: Approximately 35 corrections inserted with black ink. Museum mark 73.20.1 upper right of page one. |
