November 14, 1943 Dear Ron, Hathie keeps me informed to how you are getting along, but I sure would like to hear from you. I am finally well settled now so I get around quite a little. I bought a bicycle, and am in good pedaling shape now so I go almost any place on it. I ran into a bud of Seatchen(?) the other night. We found a park with a quart of old angus(?) and really had a rite roaring time. One of the boys was from was from Edinburgh and invited me up the first chance I get. I am very fortunate so far. I haven't got a senatol(?) as any yet. I'll have to admit it is no picnic, but I think I'll get thru all right. I have had the daylight scared out of me several times and probably will again. The chair polisher in the States seem to think the war is almost over. Maybe so, but those damn kraut eaters are throwing a lot of stuff at us, and their birds near [word unreadable]. How are thing coming along at the store? Hattie said Ronnie found the Army. George |
