Black and white photograph featuring the Silver Streak Train, owned and operated by Phil "Casey" Martin. Martin is seated in the first car with his conductor hat on, one small boy is in the second car, both are looking towards the camera. The train is emerging from a small tunnel built on the course, with "West Portal" on sign above. A part of the hillside of the present-day Centennial Open Space at Knoll-Willows area / the Birch Ruins area visible in back left. This image was taken at the Train's first location on East Elkhorn Avenue, in the area of the present day Haber Motel / The Egg & I / Estes Thai buildings, off of Wonderview and Elkhorn. |
