Black and white image of rapids along the Big Thompson River, somewhere in the canyon between Estes Park and Loveland, on the way to Fort Collins. The walls of the canyon and many trees are visible in the background. Written on the front reads "Rapids Estes Park, Loveland, and Fort Collins Road, Colo." The reverse has a green one cent stamp and is postmarked Estes Park, Colo., Jul 14, 1913. The card is addressed in pen to Miss Grace Van Winkle, Big Piney, Wyoming. Big Piney is crossed out in pencil and replaced with "Brnt" (?) Return address listed as Jennie Richards, Estes Park, Colo. Published by W.T. Parke, Estes Park, Colo. Made in Germany. Personal message reads "Estes Park, Colo., July 13, 1913. Dear Miss Van W.--Have been here for a month and will be the rest of this month but probably not longer. The Park is full of _____ and the weather has been ideal for tourists so they all seem to be happy. Mrs. Hupp adn Doris are about worked to death in the guest office and Ellen Hupp and Nannie (?) Troutman have all they care to do in the bakery. Are you ever coming back to the Park again? Sincerely, Jennie Richards" |
