Postcard featuring a dextone (Kodachroome and Ansco Color) photograph of Estes Park Village, looking at a section of Elkhorn Avenue from the east. On the north side of Elkhorn Avenue are seen the Loveland-Estes Park Transportation Company, the the Estes Park Community Church (now the Old Church Shops), the Sherwood Hotel, the Hupp Annex, the Estes Park Bank (now Western 1-Hour Photo & Imaging), the Manford Hotel (now Rocky Mountain Tops), and the W.T. Parke Store (now Rustic Mountain Charm). On the south side of Elkhorn Avenue are seen the Hupp Hotel (now the Indian Village) at the intersection of Elkhorn Avenue and Moraine Park Avenue, Williamson's Toggery (now Trendz) across Moraine Park Avenue and, the complex of structures including the depot, storage facilities, workshops, dormitory space and offices of Roe Emery's Rocky Mountain Parks Transporation Company, and behind those, to the far left, is The Park Theatre. Old Man Mountain is seen in the left background at the far end of Elkhorn Avenue. Beyond that on the right are the snow-covered peaks of Chapin, Chiquita and Mount Ypisilon. The reverse is blank except for publication information reading "Sanborn Souvenir Co., Denver, Colo." and description reading "Panorama of the Village of Estes Park, Colorado. Estes Park is the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park and one of the most unusual resort towns in the world. No. 3323" |
