Postcard of the St. Vrain Canyon featuring a bridge over the river. Caption printed on reverse, "On Lyons road to Estes Park. There are many beautiful roads leading into Estes Park, of which the Lyons Road is one of the best, as well as one of the most beautiful." Publication information, "H-H-T-Co" Postmarked August 13, 1920, no stamp. Addressed to Mr. & Mrs. A.G. Bloomfield, Mindeu Nebr. Handwritten on reverse in black ink, "Fri morn 11 AM. Just got to Uncle Elies & he's up town. Warren & the boys have gone up to find him. We left Billie B. last eve about 5 o'clock. Only got about 15 miles. The roads were slick so camped early. We got to Colorado Spgs Wed noon. It rained hell that night. It has rained on us every night but two since we started. Were out to Estes Park & are seeing sights but I for one will be glad when we get to end of journey & get homeward bound. Alls well. Kids have all had a little sick spell & I've had ear troubles. Yours, E.D.N." |
