Description |
Muskrat men's fur gloves/gauntlets. Brown fur on exterior with leather palms. Interior cuffs are lined with brown corduroy. Interior lining of gauntlets (between fur and corduroy) is goat/kid skin and goat hair (orginially not visible but can be seen in split seams on both gauntlets). Originally sewn by machine, but repaired by hand. Worn by donor's grandfather, Alba Sexton, to drive sleighs, circa 1900. Mail was delivered by sleigh when the snow got deep. |
