Description |
Oversized scrapbook containing pressed flowers collected by Mrs. William Leroy Hallett of Hallett House (known to the Hallett's as Edgemont). The couple took a 30 day camping trip in the area during the summer of 1878, guided by Abner Sprague. The scrapbook has a green, textured cover with red leather and embossed gold accents, and contains pressed flower and plant specimens, many of which are loose between the pages. Includes "the first blossoms of spring" collected in Estes Park on March 30 and flowers gathered on Longs Peak in August of 1878. Page 1: Gold circle embossed on center of page.
