Black felt sombrero type hat. Flat, oval crown with crease inside outer edge. Black grosgrain ribbon hatband with flat bow on left side. Cream satin lining and brown leather sweat band. Wide brim. Tag reads: 100% Wool, WPL 5823 7 1/4. Label in crown: Miller Denver Colo. Fine Hats. Cowboy on bucking horse. Some insignia stamped on leather inner band. Tag: 100% wool WPL5823 7 1/4. Label in crown Miller Denver Colo. Fine Hats, Cowboy on bucking horse. Sam insignia stamped in leather inner band. Donor wore this as part of his attire during parades in 1957 state celebrations. Apparently in commemoration of first permanent European settlement in Colorado. He held the position of Executive Vice-President in the Estes Park chamber of Commerce.
