Holy Bible with heavy pressed brown leather covers - with four gilt scrolled circles in shape of cross indented in covers. 'Holy Bible' in center and on spine. Frontispiece under tissue "Captive Israelites" - with the 10 commandments in color. Gilt edging. In back, a page in color noting the marriage of Geo. E. Ranstead and Janette Palmer, on back of which are four cutouts for family portraits - then a page with 4 cutouts each side. 1380 numbered pages followed by the Psalms. Contains engravings and maps. Marks In ink: "Presented to my wife Christmas, 1874, Geo. E. Ranstead." |
