4. 1966.002.004 - Hoop, Embroidery

   Hoop of light colored wood. The inner ring has a small groove running around the upper surface to hold the outer ring. It has been wrapped with clothe and stitched by hand for 9.7 cm for greater tension. The outer ring is a wire string with 1.2 cm wood beads which fit into the groove in inner ring.    Square pink silk pincushion edged with a pink silk cord. Top has fine linen embroidered cover. Has an assortment of pins and needles and a black headed pin 3.7 cm long. Stuffed with what feels like a cardboard covered cotton. Marks: Small white tag with "Made in France" woven in. From the Alex Boyd home that was located in 1908.
