Description |
Photograph album with "Stead's" hand printed in pencil inside front cover, however, time period and source (Edgar Stopher) indicate that these photos were taken when the property was owned by Abner Sprague (Edgar Stopher's uncle) prior to the property becoming Stead's Ranch in 1904. Subject of several photos, Ed Andrews, was Abner Sprague's brother-in-law. His wife, Sadie Morrison Andrews, was the sister of Abner Sprague's wife, Alberta. The original hard black cover of the album has been covered with brown suede on which has been burned a lily design with a horseshoe and a riding crop. Contains grey stiff sheets with darker grey faux matte or frame surrounding openings on each side into which a snapshot can be slipped from either top or bottom. Contains winter scenes around Stead's - and a few people are named under the picture in ink. The sheets hold together as if bound.
