Description |
Gray silk dinner dress. Lace inset bib and high neck. Metallic lace shawl effect on left shoulder. Long sleeves with lace cuffs extending out. A lace insert from left waist rosette down left front to another rosette and flair. Lots of hooks and eyes. The tucks, folds, light boning, and self-fabric flowers at waist and knee are typical details on gowns of this era. Belonged to Ella McCabe James, who wore it as hostess at the Elkhorn Lodge. Ella is Eleanor Hondius' mother Exhibited in "Out of Estes Park Closets," 1994 and "Estes Park 1899," 1999. |
