Heavy soles studded with hob nails. 3/4" heel with climbing nails, edging nails on outside. Unlined, oiled leather, with plain rounded toe. Marks: right boot has a 8.4 x 10.9 cm piece of leather cut from outside at top of boot.

Pair men's leather (light brown) 14.1 cm high boots with 9 metal eyelets. No laces. Boot lined in natural canvas with tongue attached to 5th eyelet and then free but unlined. Boot has a modified "Pac" construction in that back seam ends at ankle but toe piece has been stitched on. Sales have a few worn hob nails but many are missing leaving holes. Green whipcord reinforced knee and seat. Button fly. Waistband has 8 belt loops. Two front pockets, 2 back pockets, all with button closure. Legs taper from knee to calf and close with 8 buttons so that the breeches fit snugly at bottom so that they fit under boots. Marks: Label at back of waistband - cream colored with blue stitching. Corduroy riding pants, green, button fly. 4 buttons and waist button. 2 front pockets, 2 back pockets, 2 back pockets with button flaps. Waistband has 4 casings for a belt and 1 beltloop. 1981.048.001 - Sock
Men's sock, pair, knee high heavy gray wool ribbed hiking or boot socks. Size 12. Machine knitted with smaller rib in foot and heel section and medium ribbing 12.9 cm up from ankle. Marks: a red stamp at each toe but badly worn off so that all that can be read is size 12. Worn by Dr Pool who built Olympus Lodge and had summer botany classes.

1981.048.002 - Sock
Men's pair lightweight Angora wool socks to be worn over or under a heavier pair of socks for there is no foot or heel, only a strap going under instep. Mottled brown wool with a 15.4 turndown cuff which has bands of green and purple knitted in for design. There is a decided change of ribbing where cuff turns down. Dr Pool used these socks while working at Olympus Lodge. Pool built Olympus Lodge and taught botany classes in the summer.

Men's pair dark green mottled wool socks. Used for boots. The ribbing goes down foot and heel of sock but the under part of foot is smaller ribbing. There is a 14.1 cm cuff at top banded in yellow, red, black and green. Dr Pool owned and wore these socks. Pool built Olympus Lodge and taught botany classes in the summer.

Consists of 25 heavy sheets of gray blotting paper of varying thickness held by 2 frameworks of wood. These frames consist of 2 61cm slats to which 5 2.2 cm slats are nailed at right angles about 7.2 cm apart. At the edge of each long slat they are cut out so thongs can be wrapped around pressing the papers tight and also making a carrying handle. THe frames are handmade and therefore are uneven. Green painted wood mop handle with metal spring and lever that when raised allows mop to be placed under wire holder and along metal frame attached at end. The sprint spirals around wood and when lever is raised, it holds wire to frame. Ends of wire are attached to "ears" on lever. Marks: lever has a large "K" raised on it.

Off white stretch cotton, gather into ribbed cuff at ankle. Off-white cotton waistband with 2 sets of gromets at center back slit, which have a white cotton string through them to adjust waistband. One twill tape pull-on strap on each side. Front has v-shaped cotton fly opening with 3-button closure. Came from Dr. Pool's cabin.
